Mr. Narehood received his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the Pennsylvania State University in 1998 where he studied wind conducting with Dr. O. Richard Bundy and Dr. Dennis Glocke. Upon graduation, he began his teaching career in Lycoming County, serving as the instrumental and vocal music director at Montgomery Area Middle and High School. In 1999 he assumed the position of Director of Bands at Eisenhauer High School in the Warren County School District in Northwest Pennsylvania.
Since 2000, Mr. Narehood has been the director of bands at Annville-Cleona Secondary School in Annville, Pennsylvania where he conducts the high school concert and marching band, the middle school concert band, and two jazz ensembles. His students have had the privilege of performing with professional ensembles such as the Canadian Brass and the King’s Singers.
In addition, Mr. Narehood teaches high school music elective courses and serves as the producer for the spring musical productions. He is also the jazz ensemble director for the United States Music Ambassadors music honors program which has toured extensively throughout Europe, the continental U.S. and Hawaii.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Narehood stays active as a musician playing lead alto saxophone in the “Big Big Jazz Band” which is based in Lancaster, PA. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA.
