Welcome Message

  • Welcome to Cleona Elementary School!

Cleona Elementary School houses all the district's K to 2nd-grade students. The unique structure of this school allows staff to focus on the specific needs of our earliest learners.  The staff of Cleona Elementary School strives to insure the success of all students on their journey toward lifelong learning.

Welcome to all our families. For some of our families, this is your first experience in the Annville-Cleona School District.   I encourage all of you to get involved with your children’s education.  You can make a big difference in your student’s success.  Preparing them each morning to come to school ready to learn, will set the stage for learning.  Together we can help your child have a great school year.

We encourage you to get involved with the PTO.  They meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 6 PM.  Buildings for the meetings alternate between Cleona and Annville Elementary Schools.

We continue to refine instructional delivery with our reading and mathematics curriculums.  Both curriculums are aligned to state standards and provide an opportunity for all students to be successful.  Your child’s growth is very important to the staff at Cleona Elementary School.  Progress is closely monitored through a variety of assessments.

The Dutchman Way is a School-Wide Positive Behavior Support program.  This program supports ALL students' success by teaching appropriate behavioral expectations and providing positive reinforcements.  Students are recognized during our monthly PAT assemblies and the plan also provides for more positive reinforcement throughout the day. A brochure with more details is posted on the Cleona Elementary Webpage under About Us.

RtII is another program the staff has been busy refining.  RtII stands for Response to Intervention and Instruction.  It is a program to help identify and help all students who are struggling.   Students receive 30 minutes of enrichment or intervention time 4 times a week.  We call this intervention time- WIN Time.  WIN stands for What I Need.  You can find more information about RtII on our website by clicking on the curriculum tab.

ACSD is concerned about the safety and security of all the students and staff.  All visitors are directed into the office area where Mrs. Light, the building secretary, will greet them.  Photo Identification is required before students will be released.  Outside security cameras are also a part of our security.

The staff at Cleona Elementary School looks forward to seeing all our families.  Please remember to contact the office or your child’s teacher if you have any questions.  We want to be sure you have accurate information.  Working together we can make this a successful school year for all.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Angela Love
    Principal
