Welcome to the Annville-Cleona Chapter of

National Honor Society & National Junior Honor Society

    group shot

Each member is required to complete 15 hours of service from induction to induction (1 year).  These hours can be completed as follows:  5 in school, 5 outside of school, 5 any mix of the two.  Please use this template on google docs to track your hours.  Make sure you make a copy for yourself and then share it with your group's secretary. NHS is Ethan Fortuna etfortuna@comcast.net and NJHS is Alayna Harrell If you already have a sheet, please send a new sheet to your respective secretary.
Some current ways that members are serving our school are:  morning announcements, selling programs at football games, thon committee work, tutoring other students during the school day.  Ask other members if you are in need of ideas.
Each member of our chapter is expected to uphold the highest level of character both inside and outside of school.  You are a member of a group that has high expectations for itself, as well as high expectations from everyone around you.  The way you behave in class, in the hallways, at school events, at social gatherings and on-line using social media matters.  If a member's character comes into question at any time during the year, it is the responsibility of the advisor and the faculty council to follow the procedures set by the national by-laws and the NHS Constitution to investigate and take steps for discipline and possibly dismissal.
Members are reminded that they must maintain the required GPA and final grades for each marking period (this can be found in the "Criteria for Selection" section.  Final  grades will be checked at the end of each marking period to verify that each student continues to meet the criteria used for admission. If a member is struggling in a subject area please contact the guidance department, the advisor or another member for help.  Our role as members, and as human beings is to do whatever we can to help each other!
Please see the NHS and NJHS Calendar link, on the left, for information and dates of events to participate. Many of these events count as service hours. The calendar is updated monthly.
