Dear Annville-Cleona School District Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Today we learned that two students at the Middle School are positive for COVID-19. In this scenario, we had already quarantined these students due to their exposure to another positive student at an event. Our thoughts go out to these students and their family. These students will not be in school until they have isolated and recovered. Please note that individual health information, including the name of the students who are ill, is confidential to protect their privacy.
We are cleaning and disinfecting the school following recommendations from the CDC, and we have worked with the Department of Health to determine if there were any close contacts. The individuals who were in close contact will be quarantined at home for 14 days from their last exposure so that they can monitor their health and avoid spreading the illness to others.
The Middle School will remain open and we will continue to review our data to make the best decisions for our students, staff and community.
Since Lebanon County is in the substantial designation for community spread of COVID-19, please continue to be mindful of the guidance below:
Practice physical (or social) distancing and stay at least 6 feet apart from people outside your household.
Stay home when you are sick. If you have a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and contact your healthcare provider.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue and clean your hands immediately.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
Wear a mask or face covering in public spaces, including at school.
The holidays are quickly approaching; gatherings of large groups and travel are not recommended.
For additional questions about COVID-19, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website at health.pa.gov. If you have any questions or concerns about the information contained in this letter, please feel free to contact me.
