Dear Annville-Cleona School District Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
Today we learned that a high-school aged student tested positive for COVID-19. This student, while an A-C student, does not attend our High School and there are no close contacts in our buildings. Our thoughts go out to this student and his/her family. This student will not be in school until he/she has isolated and recovered. Please note that individual health information, including the name of the student who is ill, is confidential to protect their privacy.
The High School will remain open and we will continue to review our data to make the best decisions for our students, staff, and community.
Since Lebanon County is in the substantial designation for community spread of COVID-19, please continue to be mindful of the guidance below. Remember, our goal is to safely remain open five-days a week and we can only do this with the support and cooperation of our community.
Practice physical (or social) distancing and stay at least 6 feet apart from people outside your household.
Stay home when you are sick. If you have a cough, fever, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and contact your healthcare provider.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue and clean your hands immediately.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
Wear a mask or face covering in public spaces, including at school.
The holidays are quickly approaching; gatherings of large groups and travel are not recommended based on the Secretary of Health’s Order on November 17, 2020 (linked here is the full order). Students who choose to travel outside of the state will be required to provide a negative COVID test or to quarantine for 14 days upon return based on this state mandate.
For additional questions about COVID-19, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website at health.pa.gov. If you have any questions or concerns about the information contained in this letter, please feel free to contact me.
