In accordance with Act 18, school districts are required to establish at least one team for the assessment of and intervention with students whose behavior may indicate a threat to the safety of the student, other students, school employees, school facilities, the community, or others. Every school building in the Annville-Cleona School District has a Threat Assessment Team, which is tasked with addressing any building emergency that arises in the building, including threats.

The Building Threat Assessments team consists of, but is not limited to, the following staff members:

  • School Administrator(s)

  • School Counselor(s)

  • School Psychologist

  • School Nurse

  • Teacher(s)

  • IEP Case Manager (if the student involved has an IEP)

  • School Resource Officer (if applicable)

  • Other Staff (as needed based on the situation)

In addition to the Threat Assessment Teams, our district has a District Safety and Security Team.

The District Safety Team consists of, but is not limited to, the following staff members:

  • Superintendent

  • Assistant Superintendent/Safety and Security Coordinator

  • Director of Buildings and Grounds

  • Secondary School Principal

  • School Resource Officer

  • Other staff (as needed based on the situation)

The members of the Threat Assessment Teams and the District Safety and Security Team are required to participate in training and engage/consult with community resources such as law enforcement agencies, behavioral health professionals, etc.

It is important for our entire school community to know that if any member of the community becomes aware of a concern/threat to a student, other students, school employees, school facilities, the community, or others, it needs to be reported immediately. Below are various reporting options for such concerns/threats.
